Episode 40 Command Edit Podcast Editing with Davinci Resolve

It's official! We are over the hill!...

In podcast episode numbers, that is. But it's a meagre milestone when we realize we're going for 400 easily.

In this episode we talk about what it's like editing a feature with Davinci Resolve, once thought to only be a colour grading application. Until BlackMagic released version 12 with some NLE capabilities. It's not exactly the easiest transition in the world to change over to Resolve though...

Video Copilot came bursting into the party with a new plug-in (FOR FREE!). The Saber Plug-In for After Effects helps you create lightsabers, glow fade-off, lasers and other glowy, sci-fi stuff.

Post Notes Premiere Pro Plugin

PLUS, we have a contest! And you can win a pretty sweet prize. Our good pals over at Post Notes have released a plug-in that brings your to-do list of revisions and notes from the director directly into a Premiere panel. No more switching back and forth between Premiere and your email thread with the director or Preview with a pdf of changes to make (http://postnotes.io/).

So here's how you can win a copy of Post Notes for yourself: leave an iTunes review for the podcast...yeah, yeah, it's a shameful "Hungry for iTunes Reviews Contest" play, but whatever, we're going with it and you get a copy of a handy plugin.

  • Step 1: Write us an iTunes review. Honestly, it can be anything. But whatever you write, we will read on our next episode. You need to submit it before March 26th 11:59PM to qualify.
  • Step 2: E-mail us at CommandEditPodcast@Gmail.com and let us know what your iTunes username is and which review is yours. Y'know, so we can reward you.
  • Step 3: Wait. That's it. We will randomly pick a winner from all reviewers.
